越南和老挝就加强跨境合作打击野生动物走私举行会议（Technical meeting between Vietnam and Laos on strengthening cross-border collaboration to combat wildlife trafficking）

在“加强执法能力和合作，打击拉丁美洲和东南亚的野生动物走私”的项目背景下，此次会议在欧盟和其他机构的支持下，由越南环境犯罪公安部与WCS合作举办。会议上，两国警方就象牙、犀牛角和老虎等非法野生动物的贸易、法律制度和执法情况交换了经验和资讯，包括来自预防和打击跨境非法野生动物贩运的挑战。双方还讨论了2019年至2020年合作计划，计划旨在加强双方合作，包括联合调查跨国非法野生动物贩运、组织培训与能力建设、分享调查非法野生动物走私的经验等。

The meeting was organized by Police Department of Environmental Crime Prevention, Vietnam Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with WCS, with the support of EU and other agencies through the project "Scaling Up Enforcement Capacity and Cooperation to Combat Wildlife Trafficking in Latin America and Southeast Asia". At the meeting, the police of both countries shared information about the situation of illegal wildlife trade (especially ivory, rhino horn and tigers), the legal system and law enforcement, including the challenges in the prevention and combat of illegal cross-border wildlife trafficking. They also discussed the cooperation plan between 2019 and 2020 aiming to strengthen the commitment of cooperation, including joint investigation of illegal transnational wildlife trafficking, organizing training to improve capacity, and sharing experience in investigating illegal wildlife trafficking.
